Minnesota Fan Convention Cancelled

To my dismay, I recently learned the SF-3 Science Fiction/Fantasy convention scheduled for the Labor Day weekend in Bloomington, Minnesota has been cancelled. It appears the organizers didn't receive enough registrations to hold the event.
I was really looking forward to meeting other LOTR fans, not to mention hearing Billy Boyd (Pippin) and John Noble (Denethor) speak. What a disappointment for all involved--the organizers and potential participants alike.
Let's hope that there will be an ORC fan event in California this coming January, as there have been in recent years. Keep watching this space and theonering.net website for more news.

Oh Cate! I am so sorry that this event was cancelled! That is a huge disappointment, I know.
Do you think you'd go to the ORC? It's another dream of mine to attend one of those...it would be even more special to meet friends there! Major bonus! :)
