To celebrate the beginning of filming of The Hobbit, White Tree Press is giving away five copies of our fan appreciation anthology, Lembas for the Soul: How The Lord of the Rings Enriches Everyday Life. It's been an amazing five years since Lembas for the Soul was published. We're anticipating more joy and wonder now that filming of The Hobbit finally is under way.
White Tree Press will send a free copy of Lembas for the Soul to five fans whose names will be drawn at random from the emails we receive at lembasfolk@gmail.com. Entries must be received between now and April 16th, 2011 CST. To be fair to everyone else, please just enter once. Any duplicate entries will be discarded. You will receive an e-mail notice that your entry has been accepted. Good luck!

Filming Underway!
Tuesday, March 22, 2011
Glory and trumpets! Filming for The Hobbit is finally underway! Can you believe it's taken seven years to get to this place in time? We could have walked to Mordor and back several times in that span of years. But let's leave all those bumps in the road in the past.
This time I am determined to visit New Zealand sometime over the course of filming, or even, dare I hope, the premiere? Will the premiere be in Wellington again? I'd better start saving up my silver for that trip!
I'm going to be following the latest news on www.theonering.net and the new official Hobbit Blog at http://www.thehobbitblog.com/.

I can definitely remember the taste of strawberries now!

The Hobbit Is Coming!
Friday, December 21, 2007
And not only that, a "bridge" film linking The Hobbit to The Lord of the Rings is also part of the deal. The second film would be based on stories from the Appendices portion of LOTR. This could include The White Council, the driving out of Sauron from his stronghold in Mirkwood, Aragorn's wanderings in the south of Middle-earth, the search for Gollum, Aragorn and Arwen's meeting and so on. Too many treasures, to be sure, but we have faith in PJ's vision. We just hope he can find the time to direct the films as well as produce them.
